TSVGA Parfums Strawberry Seduction Extrait de Parfum is a mix of drizzled, fruity syrups over more animalic notes, and while it seemed like strawberry was going to be the star, the animal notes seemed to dominate more to my nose. I went in expecting summer strawberries but got something that was more like accented by subtle, fruity notes and was dominated by drier leather and darker musk. After five hours of wear, it sweetened and seemed fruitier but heavier from spiced woods and a hint of vanilla.
Strawberry Seduction Notes
It’s described as “the most genuine strawberry fragrance,” with the opening having a “blast” of it that then “melts” into rose and vanilla. The notes are listed as: strawberry, rose, vanilla, almond, ylang ylang, lavender, osmanthus, blue lotus, civet, ambergris, and muskrat.
What does Strawberry Seduction Smell Like?
It opened with sweet, slightly syrupy, strawberry, then it was more like a haze of strawberry smeared over dry leather. There was a sourness that permeated the strawberry note, which seemed to become hazier and hazier, as the scent veered into dry, somewhat musky, and generally animalic–not fecal or barnyard-like per se but more like an old barn with old saddles hung up covered in dust and dirt.
Within 20 minutes, the strawberry was more like the juice of unripened strawberries next to dry, slightly aged leather, vague animalic notes, and drier woods. Over the next hour and a half, the dry, leathery quality dissipated and a tangy, red fruit medley emerged stronger. From the third to fifth hour of wear, the fruitiness strengthened and sweetened with vanilla, while a sense of spiced woodiness started to come through. By the eight hour, it was a mix of spiced amber and woods with vanilla and a hint of red fruits.
Longevity
It lasted for eight hours until it was a skin-scent and about 10 hours before it was quite difficult to detect on my skin. The sillage and projection were moderate with the sillage dropping faster than the projection within the second hour of wear.
Personal Notes
After taking a break from reviewing perfumes (I wore many of my new favorites in the intervening time!), I dove back in, and this one caught my eye as something that might be particularly fitting for the summer season. The fragrance was really not-so-strawberry dominated for the first three hours of wear, and the first three hours of drier, musty leather and animalic vibes was very different than the latter wear, which was sweet, spiced and woody with hints of red fruit. For me, I did not enjoy the first half of wear, and the last half was enjoyable but not enough to make up for the beginning.
These are more subjective feelings based on what I like (or don’t like) in a perfume as well as considering the fragrance against other perfumes I own and love.
Testing Methodology
For testing, I used 1/3 of a 0.7ml sample vial dabbed to the underside and topside of my wrist area. I used an unscented moisturizer prior to applying the scent as I found scent did not hold well here otherwise.
I purchased my sample in May 2022; fragrances are known to be reformulated over their lifetime, so be mindful of when a review was made, e.g. a review from 2010 may not reflect what the same-named perfume smells like in 2022.
Availability
Strawberry Seduction is available for $189.00 for 30ml or $75.00 for 9ml.
If possible, I highly recommend trying a fragrance before purchasing a full bottle because fragrance can wear differently just because of skin chemistry. Skin chemistry can effect not just the longevity of a fragrance but also what notes are prominent or hidden.
Strawberry Seduction Samples
We recommend the following retailers for purchasing decanted samples (typically 0.7ml to 2ml in size). This is a fuller list, so individual availability may depend on inventory.
