ColourPop Monolith Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a light, peachy brown with moderate, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was more coverage than marketed. The texture was lightweight, smooth, and creamy with good spreadability. It wore nicely for four and a half hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

The formula is supposed to be a "hybrid" product that has the "colour of a lipstick with the care of a lip balm" in a "creamy matte finish." They described the coverage as "buildable." They feature a flexible, doe-foot applicator that has a more rounded side and a more slanted, triangular side (the latter worked well for getting crisper lines of color).

The product had more semi-opaque to opaque coverage in a single pull of product, though one could certainly use just one side's worth of the applicator product to achieve sheerer, more buildable coverage if desired.

The consistency was mousse-like with an airy, velvety-smooth feel that made it easy to spread across my lips and kept it comfortable to wear. It wasn't clingy, but there was a bit of adhesion without tackiness, the kind I tend to find is present with more velvety, silicone-heavy formulas like this one.

It has a more cream-like finish that wears down to a soft matte finish after an hour or two. They don't have a full dry-down, so they are not transfer-resistant or ultra long-wearing. They lasted between four and six hours with deeper, more red-toned shades tending to last the longest and leaving behind light stains. They were lightly hydrating over time. There didn't appear to be a scent, and there was no taste.

They are much lighter-weight and less "wet" in feel going on initially compared to the brand's prior Ultra Satin formula. The Ultra Satin formula adhered more and was very long-wearing, and while not initially transfer-resistant, it was more transfer-resistant after an hour or two of wear.

ColourPop Coal It Quits Fresh Kiss Lip Crème ($8.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a rich, deeper chocolate brown with subtle, warm undertones and cream finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage, which was somewhat buildable, but the texture of this product had enough slip to it that layering it wasn’t that comfortable to do–it felt messier and very high-maintenance when layered.

I would recommend applying one layer, blotting, and then adding a bit more if higher coverage is desired. It lasted well for five hours, as it did wear down to a more satin-like finish after two hours, and felt lightly hydrating over time.
