Terra Moons Duochrome Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches (Part 3 of 3)

Martian

Terra Moons Martian Duochrome Eyeshadow ($8.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a rich, molten copper base with gold to green-gold shifting shimmer paired with a highly-reflective, metallic finish. At a glance, it looked like a typical copper, but the shimmer was incredibly intense in its shift and shine.

It had nearly opaque color coverage that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product that diffused well along the edges. The texture was lightly creamy, moderately dense but not thick, and easy to work with. The color showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

Formula Overview

$8.00/0.05 oz. - $160.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be "blendable" and "pigmented" with "a bit of kick up" when used due to being "pressed by hand." Some shades come with "additional information" such as being sheerer on the brand's website (for that particular shade) or to use a "glitter primer" due to the finish.

I found that some matte shades were more noticeably powdery than others, but whether there was just a little bit of powderiness or more noticeable powderiness really depended on a shade. The neon shades were the most powdery and hardest to work with on their own; some had more specific tips/guidance on how to work with them, which I felt was great for disclosure, but it could get hard to remember what shade needs to be applied in such and such fashion since it really did vary a lot shade by shade. The darker and less neon matte shades tended to perform the best for me--more pigmentation, better blendability, and were easier to work with and were more consistent.

Most shades--matte and more shimmery--were pigmented, easy to blend, and applied well to bare skin. They lasted between seven and eight hours with most closer to eight hours before fading (more of the mattes) or creasing (some of the more intense metallics).

Selene

Terra Moons Selene Duochrome Eyeshadow ($8.00 for 0.05 oz.) had a more transparent base chocked full of shimmer and sparkle that shifted between pale periwinkle and greenish-gold.

It had a sparkling, metallic finish paired with a soft, lightly emollient consistency that had minimal fallout but was better applied with a dampened brush or a fingertip to really minimize fallout opportunities (especially for over time), which the brand noted (that it was best with an adhesive base). It had nearly opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly and lasted for eight hours with light fallout.

X-ray

Terra Moons X-ray Duochrome Eyeshadow ($8.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a transparent base full of pale, icy blue sparkle that shifted between blue and violet. The texture was soft, smooth, and more loosely-pressed, so there was excess product that kicked up in the pan and some fallout during application.

It was a shade that the brand said to use with a glitter adhesive, which I’d agree with, though most of the fallout was confined to application rather than during wear (when used dry)–I’d likely just use it with a dampened brush or an adhesive spray but not a full-on glitter primer (which I find is often harder to blend when using, so if I can skip it, I will). It had mostly opaque pigmentation that lasted well for eight hours with slight fallout over time.

Europa

Terra Moons Europa Duochrome Eyeshadow ($8.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a transparent base chocked full of larger sparkle that shifted from pale aqua to lavender. The texture had some glide to it, which helped it adhere better to bare skin without any extras, but the brand recommend using it with an adhesive base due to how sparkly it was, which I would agree with.

I’d say to apply it with a dampened brush, at a minimum, as that helped to smooth out the coverage and thickness of the product on the skin. It had more medium coverage that didn’t build up to full opacity, but it was very sparkly and reflective, so the sheerness wasn’t as visible in practice. The color had light fallout after eight hours of wear.
