Giorgio Armani Burn Red (418) Lip Maestro Giorgio Armani Burn Red (418) Lip Maestro ($38.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark red with moderate, warm orange undertones and lighter, orange-red pearl throughout. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which applied smoothly and comfortably across my lips without settling into my lip lines.

The texture mattified over time, though it took a few hours to wear down to a true satin finish. It wore well for seven and a half hours, left a faint stain behind, and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

The consistency has more slip and a velvety-smooth feel that softly “clings” to the lips, so while the finish has a glossier look for the first few hours, the color stays on well. If you’ve ever used a silicone-based primer, there’s a bit of that feel to the formula overall. Most shades last between six and eight hours on me, are non-drying to lightly hydrating, and comfortable to wear. The formula is unscented and has no discernible taste.

The Lip Maestro Notorious formula is supposed to have a “luminous matte” finish with “8 hours of wear” and “high pigment.” The Notorious shades are inspired by “chic Hollywood glamour” but otherwise appear very similar in feel to the original Lip Maestro formula.

Giorgio Armani Cardinal Red (420) Lip Maestro Giorgio Armani Cardinal Red (420) Lip Maestro ($38.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and fine, red pearl woven throughout the more cream-like finish. The texture was smooth, more velvety and cream-like but had great glide and adhesion to my lips without feeling slippery during wear.

It had opaque color coverage that applied evenly and didn’t emphasize my lip texture. This shade stayed on nicely for seven hours and left a faint stain behind, while the formula felt hydrating over time.
